I look at it as a career, not an hourly job. If you really want to look at it fairly, you need to add all the perks and benfits, plus:
a) amazing experience
b) advancement opportunity
c) great people
d) cool clients
e) challenging work
f) fun (yes, I have fun at work)
g) learning a ton
These are careers, not hourly jobs. I feel like I'm getting a rich experience which in the long run will probably be worth much more than my salary.
My point is that if you are working at McDonalds for the same hourly rate, you are getting a lot more out of your ePrize experience than just a wage.

Yeah, like the irreversible physical damage stress does to you over 10-14 hours a day, 6 days a week.
It's fine that you seem to have this idealistic approach to ePrize, but if you haven't picked up on it, most of the people here have done their time, found out they were worth more than $10 an hour, and left. Honestly, I knew/know several people that work/worked at ePrize and of the 7 things you list, about the only one everyone would agree with is the people. There are some wonderful, intelligent, thoughtful people at ePrize, that's why it's so sad to watch them stay there, unhappy, overworked, and underpaid. There have been many times that I've been in tears because I felt so horrible for my husband, his close friends, all of them.
In short, we get that you love it there, we get that you think everyone being negative is crazy, and we get that you'll defend ePrize to the death. So why not go to the other board and rave about them somewhere that you won't have to defend them all the time.
We don't like them, we have pages and pages of reasons to not like them, and that's not going to change.

anotherwifeofone: DITTO, and kudos.
eprizer: yes, there's more to work than just an hourly wage. If you need/want/enjoy the experience, it's a good stepping-stone for your career. I think the point has been made very clearly that working "ePrize style" is meant as just that, a stepping stone, not a career.

Thanks for the breakdown, Diz...To the drinkers of the Kool-aid, is a cool building, subsidized lunches and dinners, or the "rich experience" worth GIVING Linker $6/hr. (in the best case scenario)? 220 employees @$6/hr x 30 hours a week = $39,600. Not bad pay for making kool-aid, eh Josh?
9:31 AM
Hi dizgruntled,
You seem to have overestimated the ePrize starting wage. Could you please give me the breakdown for 25k/year? I'm just so bad at math...and can you get that to me by EOD?
9:44 AM
Just in case anyone thinks that "super jazzed" (I love that name) is joking, there are folks at ePrize at that wage and below that 30K cutoff.
"We'll continue doing great work for great clients (for big bucks while you don't see any)."
10:03 AM
also, all of your rates of pay are over the national average. you are just spoiled...go to the middle of the country and talk to a single mom who works 70 hours a week at $7 an hour with no benifits and see if she'd like to take a crack at eprize wages and benefits.
10:09 AM
dizgruntled. the bottom line is, you don't believe in your opinions enough to put your name behind them. what exactly are you afraid of? if you are speaking the truth, you have nothing to fear. so, who are you?
10:13 AM
PJD, be realistic. You know how Robb likes to flex his lawyerly muscles. Why should Diz go public? Does anonymity really make his/her opinions less valid? I think not.
(Meanwhile, I scratch my head trying to remember an employee with PJD as initials...)
10:33 AM
dizgruntled isn't doing anything illegal and shouldn't have any fear of such reprisals. besides, if eprize went after dizgruntled than s/he would have plenty more ammo to complain. i just can't respect this person who is taking the most cowardly way out...sorry. when i have a problem with my boss, i tell them. and i do it fairly often. i would like to believe i am valued and respected for doing this. they certainly don't seem to mind. i think Josh and Robb could handle the criticism. imagine the effect dizgruntled might have had if s/he had submitted her complaints in an organized and official manner. guess we'll never know. besides, it's so much more fun to anonymously criticize. "The smallest people with the weakest minds will attempt to bring down the biggest people with the biggest minds".
11:26 AM
ok jazzy...
25k/year @ 40hr/week = $ 12.02/hour
25k/year @ 50hr/week = $ 9.62/hour
25k/year @ 60hr/week = $ 8.02/hour
25k/year @ 70hr/week = $ 6.87/hour
Ooh, that hurt. Sorry to hear this is potentially what you're making.

Who am I? Evidently your worst fear. Why do you need to know who I am? You are no longer in my 'chain of command'. I mean, ar eyou looking to go out for drinks and discuss? Unlikely. Just as unlikely as my reveal.
Sorry, ain't happening.

All of us posting our thoughts on here with our names backing us up doesn't make us brave, it walks the line between brave and reckless(read stupid). The fact that diz is posting anonymously doesn't make any of the points false.
Odds are we really don't give a rats ass about your opinion so go on thinking diz(hell and me) are cowards. Just remember its more than just legal concerns here. What if diz still has friends in ePrize that they are worried about getting in trouble for their actions. Do you really think the management at ePrize is above that?
11:36 AM
Diz. i was referring to national averages for wages for american workers. not specific jobs.
i'm not saying you don't have some valid points. i'm just saying you are cowardly, petty and pointless. get over yourself and move on. and chump, don't work at eprize. never did. would be happy to meet you and discuss. i just feel if you have legitimate complaints, take them up the ladder WHILE YOU STILL WORK THERE, and then if you can't get satisfaction. quit. what you are doing with this blog is entertaining, but ultimately petty and pointless. no one respects a coward.
11:44 AM
PJD - the emails and IM services at ePrize are an open book for upper-management, so I'm sure they get a good feel for what's being said "privately". It's pretty obvious that they haven't done anything to change other than fire some of the most flagrant complainers.
Likewise, ePrize does ask for opinions on the rare occasion -- and they they choose to ignore those opinions. Same goes for direct communication to them.
It's not that they don't hear and that no one is speaking... they just don't care.
So, PJD, just go on being "a coward" yourself and believe that these opinions only have weight if everyone came forward with their real names. And then believe that nothing would happen to all of those people.
What color is the sky in your world?

pjd...
If you haven't worked there... or at least known someone who does. You're pretty much coming across as a troll from this point forward (at least I would guess). Assuming someone is reading this with an open mind, they will probably value opinions from people who work there.
I'm not saying they'll value mine though, I'm mostly combative here against the ePrize chearleaders. Its more of a grudge than anything. The idiots who drank the kool-aid and couldn't stop chanting the mantra pissed me off, and seeing them come on here and try to put people down who have had bad experiences... well it grates me.
11:48 AM
Scene from December 2005:
All of upper management dressed up in capes / superhero garb and chanting "We're Number One!"
<shudder> That vision haunts me to this day.
11:50 AM
Chump. i said i never worked there. didn't say i don't have (many) friends who do and i have been to eprize many times and know dozens of people there. you're just an angry, petty person who won't move on. assuming everything you say is true, you don't work there anymore. move on and get over it and yourself.
i've yet to meet the person who doesn't have complaints about their job. you act like someone owes you something. i'm sorry but they don't. what color is the sky in YOUR world?

'i was referring to national averages for wages for american workers. not specific jobs.'
The work being done at ePrize is not average. Meaning, it actually take some skill to perform most of the tasks at hand. Therefore, comparing to a National average doesn't cut it for me. 'John Doe' working at Mickey D's probably couldn't do the work @ eprize. I'm just trying to point out that the ePrizer's deserve more.
So you think I'm cowardly, petty and pointless. That I need to get over myself and move on. And you think no one respects me?
Well, newsflash, when I was employed there I made TONS of suggestions IN PERSON, none of those suggestions ever left the desks of leadership. They obviously didn't respect me while I was an 'ePrizer'. Why would they care now? Because of a blog?
Talk about petty and pointless.
12:07 PM
so you agree that you are petty and pointless. cool. no one is saying you weren't in a bad work enviroment, no one is saying it's your fault. no one is saying you didn't try to make changes. what we're saying is that you are a petty whining little person.

' we're saying is that you are a petty whining little person. '
WE? are you sitting around a monitor with your friends reading the blog and writing responses? Sounds like fun! Maybe you could webcast it...that would be cool.
lol
Whatever, so you think I'm petty and pointless. I don't care what you think.
12:13 PM
pjd, find the other post from Josh Hamman and the rest of your ePrize friends, and stop spewing about shit you know nothing about. You're only showing your ignorance and lack of validity. At this point, your lack of experience and contributions are TRULY petty and pointless as noone cares. Get a life and get off the blog.
12:17 PM
so, neither of you care but continue to respond. seriously, i'm done, but you both sound so pathetic.
12:26 PM
Bye, PJD. Come back after you've worked at ePrize for a few months and let us know if you feel the same way.
Let's just hope you're up to being called an "eprizer" and an "A Player" and are one of the "right people on the bus." "Keep that flywheel spinning" and doing "kick ass" work.
12:51 PM
This Blog is far from Pointless. It will get indexed by the Search Engines within a few months.
Future candidates will be able to read this while 'researching' the company. If they have 2 job offers and one is Eprize at least they'll be informed.
Search Eprize on Technorati and you'll see the posts begining to propogate.
Don't f*(K with the Blogosphere!

Hey guys, everyone chill for a moment. I think the recent publicity that this blog has gotten has started to bring out the worst in people.
My point in posting here was not to call anyone out. It wasn't to insinuate you are a "coward" if you dont post with your real name. It was to add a coutner point to the statements that were being said here. A ying to the yang.
This has now degraded into name calling and "i'm better than you" type of posts, that I don't beleive dizgruntled was hoping for, and I know its not what I want.
The core here is that for every negative thing you choose to bring up or point out at ePrize, I'm pretty sure I can give you 2 positives.
I'm not arguing against your logic. We are working too hard. There are a lot of people that are very overwhelmed here right now. I'm arguing for ePrize, because if people only see your infomation, it not only hurts me, but all the other people here who also believe in the company. It makes it harder for us to get talented people in the doors.
Are there different things that people can do here to change the things you are saying? Of course. And it's my hope that now that they are probably reading this, stuff will happen.
But for the sake of sanity and friends, lets try and keep the "arguments" to logic.
This whole thing feels like Kindergarten.
Peace.

Hippy.
4:41 PM
The comments have fallen apart(I'm sure I've helped). The posts don't strike me as too immature. The only issue I have, is people literally calling us names, victim, coward, whatever. Beyond that I don't care. I have long ago vented to anyone/everyone who would listen (even if they didn't want to). At this point, Its more about challening the cheerleading than anything else. Josh if you want to bring up two good points for every one, do so, just make sure they're good ones. Because if someone on here mentions 70-80 hour work weeks(because management schedules projects that way) then don't come back with, but we get lunchbox, and a deck on the fourth floor.
6:27 PM

I've let go for the most part, its not my anger for the work experience that drives me to comment here. Its seeing how disrespectful some of you current pro-eprizers are toward people who have had bad experiences there. I identify with these people, and while they may not need defending, seeing them (and myself) put down in here pisses me off.
I suspect that others may be commenting for the same reason, we identify with diz, and hate to see anyone one of 'us' put down.
It should say something that no one can really put a finger on who is doing all this, if everything was so great at ePrize, don't you think it'd be a bit easier to figure out who the author/posters are?
I'll stop with the name calling as long as the current ePrizer's start showing respect.
My hate keeps me warm, bit my shiny metal ass.
6:44 PM
My own boss called me a "victim" at ePrize - so you can blame them for namecalling. :) Apparently my frustration at the inefficiencies and my hands being tied to make a difference made me appear as if I were a victim.
If anything, ePrize has a "blame the victim" mentality.
